Plaza Healthcare Infusion Teams are an important and essential 24/7 service. At Plaza Healthcare we employ trained infusion nurses who perform procedures safely and efficiently while providing resident customized care for acute and chronic conditions and continuing education for residents, staff and families.
The Infusion Team, in collaboration with the treating physician, provide resident-specific treatment plans that may include anti-infective treatments, electrolyte and hydration therapies, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), peripheral parenteral nutrition (PPN), and intravenous medication therapies. They also care for and maintain the devices, ensure intravenous (IV) site integrity, IV catheter care and dressing changes to help prevent and manage potential IV-related complications.
The Infusion Team also oversees, in collaboration with treating physician and contracted hemodialysis service (Davita), the in-house peritoneal dialysis program. This includes device care, supply and dialysis solution inventory control to ensure each resident has what is ordered and required for safe and efficient exchanges.
