Physical therapy focuses on the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of movement (or musculoskeletal) disorders whether it be from injury, surgery, or illness.

This focus is enhanced by the Physical Therapist’s extensive experience in diagnosing physical abnormalities, restoring physical function and mobility and promoting physical activity with proper function.

Physical therapy can involve many different interventions and aims dependent upon a patient’s condition and the initial assessment such as;
• Orthopedic treating musculoskeletal injuries
o Musculoskeletal injuries
o Joint mobilization
o Manual therapy
o Strength and mobility training
• Geriatric to help older patients who develop condition that affect their mobility and physical function such as arthritis and osteoporosis
o Pain reduction
o Mobility restoration
• Neurological for patients with neurological disorders and conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury and stroke
o Increase limb responsiveness
o Treat paralysis
o Reducing muscle atrophy
• Cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation
o Increasing physical endurance and stamina
• Wound Care Therapy to help to ensure a healing wound is receiving adequate oxygen and blood by way of improved circulation
o Manual therapies

o Compression therapy
• Vestibular Therapy to treat balance problems that can result from inner ear conditions
o Exercises and manual techniques that can help patients regain their normal balance and coordination
• Decongestive Therapy
o Techniques that can help to drain accumulated fluid in patients with lymphedema and other conditions that involve fluid accumulation
• Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
o Treatments that can help treat urinary or fecal incontinence, urinary urgency and pelvic pain
